Let’s do this, CrashPlan.
FreeNAS 9.1 has support for a CrashPlan plugin. I got it to work, after some typical futzing about with FreeBSD and it’s Linux compatibility libraries.
2,500,823 files. 3.6TB. Let’s do this, CrashPlan.
(As an aside, I actually prefer Backblaze, but they don’t support backing up from NAS drives, and I’m not sure what it’d take to get it running under FreeBSD. Fix that guys.)
New MacBook Pros
Really excited that Apple has dropped the 15″ non-retina MacBook Pros from the lineup. Here’s hoping my employer, who thus far has refused to purchase the retina MBPs will now be forced to replace the old 15″ers with the new.
I’m not even that crazy about the retina display, but my Mid-2010 15″ MBP is aging, and I really want the SSD.
Fingers crossed.

The Text Triumvirate
The Text Triumvirate is an alliance between the zsh, vim, and tmux. Each of these venerable tools is extremely powerful in its own right; however, together they are an unmatched productivity force that rules all forms of text manipulation. This post aims to provide an overview of how to create a highly functional and easy to configure Text Triumvirate for those new to this tool chain.
